Upper limb and ankle surgery and trauma reconstruction. In particular ankle and wrist fractures.
I was previously Clinical Director of Orthopaedics at the Horton Hospital in Banbury, in addition to my Consultant position. I have undertaken medico-legal work for almost 20 years. My specific areas of interest are in upper limb injuries, specifically wrist and shoulder injuries, and ankle injuries.
I held a research Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England from 1990 to 1991, looking at the management of ankle fractures. I am a member of the Steering Group for the Basic Surgical Skills Course, as the Orthopaedic representative for the Royal College of Surgeons.
I have provided advice for NICE (National Centre for Health and Clinical Excellence) on total wrist replacement. My current research areas are in upper limb joint replacements. I am involved in development work on wrist and finger joint replacements.
I have presented and published research work on upper limb arthroplasty in the UK and abroad. I am a member of the International Wrist Investigators Workshop.
