The Stoke Mandeville Experience – SIA’s Challenge Event

This year’s fundraising challenge took place on Wednesday 29th October and is designed to enable teams to experience four Paralympic sporting events, such as Wheelchair Basketball and Hand-cycling, as they compete with other teams for fabulous prizes.

This event proved a popular way to encourage participants to pull together as a team, to network with other teams, and of course was a perfect way to help raise much needed funds for SIA!

The Stoke Mandeville Experience is an annual event that takes place at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. It was at this venue that the neurologist Ludwig Guttman first organized the Stoke Mandeville Games for disabled personnel on the same day as the start of the London 1948 Summer Olympics, thereby establishing the first Paralympic Games!

Sports that you will experienced are: Wheelchair Basketball | Wheelchair Rugby | Hand-cycling | Archery | Slalom
